    It belongs to the Menispermaceae family. Its all parts such as root, stems, and leaves are widely used in Ayurvedic and Unani medicine. Its taste is bitter, astringent, and pungent that removes accumulated Pitta and has immense potential to balance all the dosha of the human body.


    Its all parts contain some basic chemical components like phenols; alkaloids; steroids; glycosides; sesquiterpenoids; diterpenoid alkaloids; polysaccharides; and aliphatic compounds.
