    What is Rickets?

    Rickets is a pediatric disease, brought on due to lack of vitamin D that causes malabsorption of calcium & phosphorus and results in weak and soft bones that ends up with permanent skeletal deformities like bowed legs, large forehead, vertebral curvatures, bone fractures etc. in ignored or unattended cases.

    How Rickets is Diagnosed ?

    Rickets may be diagnosed with the help of following medical investigations -

    Blood test for calcium level, phosphate, and vitamin D.

    Radiography - X- rays of affected bones (knees, wrists, thigh, and ankles bones) - AP views.

    Bone density test.

    Diet regimen and Life-style Practices for Rickets sufferers

    Massage oil for rickets - Massage oils like Sesame oil, Almond oil, Olive oil, Ashwagandhadi oil, Maha narayan oil or Dabur red oil, Chandan bala lakshadi oil should be utilized in the case of rickets as these fortify the bones and muscles of the children.
