    Conjunctivis is a severe inflammed condition of the conjunctiva, a mucous membrane within the eye-ball and an internal aspect of the eyelids. Conjunctivitis is referred to as Netrabhishyanda in ayurvedic arrangement of medicines, wherein Netra implies eye while Abhishyanda stands for wetland.

    Use Goggles (darkish-cooling glasses only) to protect eye from sunlight, dirt, dust particles etc.

    Usually do not watch Television, work with Laptop or android mobile for a lot longer to avoid eye-straining.

    Cold water splashing or irrigation should be accomplished 2-3 times daily in the case of conjunctivitis is vital.

    Do not share handkerchief or bath towel to stop further contamination.

    Always try to eat fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables which can be rich in vitamin A, vitamin  B2, vitamin E, and zinc such as pumpkin, salads, spinach, papayas, tomato, cucumber, almonds, bananas, carrot, mango, bitter gourd, coriander leaves, orange, lemon and so forth to keep your eyes healthy and supercharge immunity power.

    Avoided food stuffs during conjunctivitis - 

    Spicy foods, starch/sugary foods, pungent foods, sour foods, fatty foods, hard to digest foods, excess salt, condiments, confectionery, sauces, pickles,  jams, strong tea, coffee, red  meat, white bread, potatoes, pastry, refined cereals,  puddings, pies and so on.

    Prevent contact with dust, fumes, smokes, polens etc. of eyes.

    Cold or hot Compress - 


    Take a small sterile cotton piece and dip it in luke warm water and cover affected eyes several times because it is a very popular folk treatment to take care of eye swelling, irritation etc. during conjunctivitis. Apart from this, you can use cold compress instead hot compress as well.

    Herbal solution for eye wash - 

    Triphala churna, licorice powder, coriander seeds or turmeric powder have to be utilized as a part of eye rinse, as this is a great home remedy to sticky eye-lids produced at some point of conjunctivitis. And after eye wash, always make use of a clean towel, handkerchief or sterile cotton to avoid secondary infection.
    Apart from this, you can make an eye wash either of baking soda, roasted alum, boric acid or  roasted borax to deal with conjunctivitis. But remember, these should be utilized after taking an advice of a doctor.  

    Coconut oil or Goat’s Milk should be applied over eye-lids to prevent stickyness.
